BOUN NEUA

Boun Neua bus station

To Ngay Neua - 0830 (not sure if daily)

Buses departing from Phongsaly town stop here for 10-20 min between 0800 & 0900+:
- Phongsaly to Boun Tai
- Phongsaly to Ou Neua (not sure if daily)
- Phongsaly to Ou Tai
- Phongsaly to 勐腊 Mengla (China)
- Phongsaly to Oudomxay
- Phongsaly to Vientiane

Buses to Phongsaly stop here later in the day:
- Vientiane to Phongsaly ~0900++
- Oudomxay to Phongsaly ~1800++

Notes:
The names in the 'From' columns above all read 'Boun Tai'.
'Pak Thang' literally means 'mouth road' i.e. 'Pak Thang ABC' means 'mouth of/junction with road leading to ABC'.
'Lak' means something like 'kilometre marker'.
Oudomxay > Phongsaly bus stops here at ~1530+.



HAT SA

Hat Sa boat landing (info from 15 December 2009):
To Muang Khua - slowboat 80,000kip/person

Notes:
Boats run on demand - depart when there are enough passengers or when chartered.
Passport/ID checks at Hat Sa & Ban Khana (downriver from Hat Sa).

Road is unpaved with a few stream/river crossings, muddy & occasionally flooded/impassable during the rainy season.

OU NEUA

Photo & info - 12 December 2009. Not sure if there is any bus station, boarded & alighted at the village shop along the road in ບ້ານດອນແຍງ Ban Don Nyaeng:

One daily bus from Ou Tai to 江城 Jiangcheng (China) passes through at ~1030.
One daily bus from Jiangcheng (China) to Ou Tai passes through between ~1400 - 1600++.
From Ou Neua to Ou Tai - 10,000kip, approx 1h journey.



OU TAI 乌德

Despite the mention of a Phongsaly-Luang Namtha bus, the cat never did see it stop by Boun Neua bus station.
The bus to Hat Sa leaves from another bus station (details below).
Shared songthaew from here into town - 5000kip/person.
